Sumit Sharma is a Senior Solutions Lead at Virtualcare. Sumit has more than 11 years’ experience in the public health sector across various roles. He has extensive knowledge of the two major EMR systems through an Epic EMR implementation at RCH and a Cerner EMR (eTQC) implementation at Alfred Health. Throughout his career, he has acquired a wealth of knowledge in ED, Theatre & Anaesthesia, Inpatient and community workflows.
As an ITS lead for home-based care projects at Alfred Health, Sumit built an ITS device strategy for community services. He was also able to introduce android based point of care devices to expand clinicians’ ability to perform various functions through a single device. This significantly reduces the hardware clinicians need to carry when visiting patients’ homes. Sumit was the project lead for the rollout of a remote patient monitoring program at the Alfred Health. The focus of the project was to deploy a remote patient monitoring technology in HITH (Hospital in the Home) and HARP (Hospital Admission Risk Program) services for patients presenting/admitted with decompensated heart failure (HF) disease. He has an I.T. degree and completed a graduate certificate in Digital health. He is also Prince 2 (foundation) certified.
