Taroon Japal is a highly respected IT executive with over three decades of experience leading digital transformation and strategic IT initiatives across Mauritius and numerous African countries. Mr Japal is currently the Senior Adviser on Strategic Digital Transformation Matters at the Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, Government of Mauritius. Renowned for his leadership in introducing Oracle to competitive African markets, Taroon has played a pivotal role in the modernisation of IT systems for multiple governments, including major national projects in Mauritius, Namibia, Botswana, Uganda, and Mozambique.
His expertise spans IT auditing, quality assurance, project management, and business development at an international level. Taroon has served as Managing Director and CEO for leading IT firms, such as Oracle East and Middle Africa and New Point E Solutions, overseeing the growth of Oracle and other premier IT organisations in the region. He has also provided high-level consultancy and advisory services in the banking, government, and corporate sectors, and continues to shape IT strategy as a board member and advisor.
Beyond his professional achievements, Taroon is committed to mentoring young graduates and supporting youth development through social engagement and community initiatives.
