Dr Kevin Teerovengadum is a very well-known Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and Urologist with more than 15 yrs of experience, currently affiliated with C-Care Welkin Hospital, Mauritius. Dr Teerovengadum completed his initial training at Royal College Curepipe, Mauritius and received a French Scholarship to study medicine in France. He completed his MD at Toulouse University, Paris, followed by his Masters in General Surgery and Fellowship in Paediatric Surgery at University of Paris VI, France.
Dr Teerovengadum returned to Mauritius in 2009 as the first ever board certified Mauritian paediatric surgeon and helped develop the national paediatric surgery program with commitment and support of the public healthcare system. Dr Teerovengadum was affiliated from 2009 – 2016 with the Ministry of Health and Wellness – Victoria Hospital, Mauritius as the only paediatric surgeon on the island . For 7 years, hee has completed high volume elective and emergency surgeries with very positive outcomes but eventually took the decision to step down from the public sector due to the professional burnout as the single surgeon serving the country of 1.3 million residents. Dr Teerovengadum continues to train the next generation of doctors while continuing the highly successful general paediatric surgery practice in Mauritius.
