Director of Medical Services at Hollywood Private Hospital, Dr John Maxwell is an Emergency and Acute Physician with over 22 years of experience in both the public and private sectors in the UK and Australia. He is a respected and experienced medical leader who prior to returning to Australia was Divisional Chair in one of the largest integrated health and social care trusts in the UK.
Dr Maxwell is dedicated to delivering the highest standards of patient centred care through excellence in leadership and has initiated, led and delivered on a variety of change and improvement projects in healthcare, including a national review of Urgent and Emergency Care in Northern Ireland.
Dr Maxwell is passionate about digital health innovations and has developed and implemented digital strategies and solutions for healthcare organisations. His research investigated the impact of digital health and social media on healthcare leaders. He is also the cofounder and director of a company specialising in digital health technology.
He has Fellowships of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine, the Royal Society of Medicine and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh with a Master’s degree in Medical Leadership and an Executive MBA with distinction from Warwick Business School.
